Castles made of sand fall in the sea eventually

wow. Almost a month.

Lots has happened---none of it good. Christmas was spent in Berkeley with Cameron and his family. A long-awaited explosion happened and my parents and I discovered that the best day to fly during the holiday season is Christmas day in the middle of the afternoon.

I went up to MN for NYE and didn't get to see the Otter. Haven't heard a peep out of him since before Christmas.

The puppy is still attentive, but I haven't heard from him for a bit.

I've only exchanged extremely limited emails with the guy who had potential. Nothing happening there.

And, the time has come a bit early for my annual break from my heterosexual gay best friend. His behavior of late has been demonstrating everything I find disgusting about men. So, rather than conduct a mercy-killing or at least castration (merciful for the rest of society), the time has come for me to spend a month or so not in contact with him. This usually doesn't happen until his birthday on January 27. This year, it is a bit early. I suspect it is due to his living so close to me now.

Oh, and for a bit of minor amusement...A close friend of mine and his wife purchased two baseball caps for me for Christmas. They are falsely worn-in and by a label, but what they have printed on them was too perfect to pass up, apparently. One says "D&D" in large letters with some Hot Topic-y cutesy explanation in tiny tiny letters that will be removed. The other says "I (heart) Canadian Boys". They're funny because they're true.
